There is only one Earth.
A living planet
Where in the universe that we can find planet like earth with large single Moon on it's orbit.
In seven billion years, Earth will be consume by Sun.
We are living among other creatures in the small village
in the universe, called planet Earth.
Our planet of earth, is luxuries style among our galaxy.
Within our solar system the Earth is in a fairly narrow habitable zone, just right distance from the sun. prefect distance that earth axle rotation create summer and winter. Closer to sun will get hot and melt the ice, farther we will freeze.
The first time we saw picture of Earth from space, we saw beautiful planet with no boundary or borders. You get the feeling of peaceful planet with one big family living together. At the same time we know the reality are different. Then, we might wish to be peaceful and beautiful as it look.
If thousand years ago, aliens visited our planet, and did visit us again today, they will find out that, our planet is sick. After diagnoses, they will find out, that, earth have a cancer and the virus is, human being.
The fact is, we do not appreciate what we have, what ever
we need we have on earth to sustain us to have healthy life. We always complain
about, what we don't have. The good example is in a story that my father
wrote in a letter, when I was a boy:
There was a city divided by a river, that, you had to walk long way up or
down the river, to get to other side of the city. There was a generation,
knew, there is no bridge to cross the river to other side. Later, when they
were building a bridge, that generation knew, there weren't any bridge,
now they can cross it to reach other side of the river.
The later generation, think, the bridge always has been there.
While we're waiting for a national policy on global warming,
there are plenty of steps can take to fight the coming heat. Americans put
out an average of 20,000 lbs. of carbon dioxide (CO2) a year. Taking action
would make us healthier (by making the atmosphere cleaner).
What we need is, to come up with new way of Thinking, new Idea to have a
new Vision for our future.
Everything you think of, are here on Earth. What we have,
want and need. What we have to figure out how to live with best of what
we have:
