"Ten ounces of force can move 200 pond."
What motivate us to do the things we do? One event can change
our life. One of hand full of events that set pattern and changed my life
is:
One day I hear my Mom & Dad were talking about something that never
seen, and by coincidence later, I hear them talking about the same thing,
but this time they have seen it. Sound so intriguing, I start asking them
to take my, I want to see it too. One day they took me with them. For the
first time that I saw a movie named "Tarzan". That vivid impression,
the moving picture on the white screen was mesmerizing. Specially the plot
of the movie, where Tarzan lives with animals and talk to them, and protect
the villagers from white man with guns. From then on I wanted to be part
of it. More I got involved more I find out that, Hollywood is where the
movies being made. Then, Hollywood became my dream land. That process motivated
me to go to Hollywood and that became my Goal.
Now, to motivated oneself and to have a Goal. living in a country without
freedom and no opportunity, In a family with eight kids struggling to survive.
You have to be very Determent in that situation. Your determination shows
the strength of how motivated you are to reach your Goal.
There are inner and outer motivations.
Inner Motivation
Inner motivation is when you are inspire by vivid impression that motivate
you to do something about it and that become your desires.
Another event that motivated me to come to America, was: when I was eleven
years old. one day in a summer time I was playing soccer with my friend
with bare foot in the field. Then came this strange sound from sky, I looked
up and for the first time I saw this Helicopter flying and trying to land
on the field that we were plying. Dust was all over the place and I hear
other kids yelling American, American. I was mesmerize with the Helicopter
and the whole thing. After dust settle down, this pilot comes out with sunglass
and neat uniform. As he pass by me, tapes me on my chick with his fist and
with smile says, Hi kiddy. I was thinking, where is this America that have
people like him that live so different from I live? So, America was in my
mind and I could not let go. I wanted to see America.
Outer motivation
Outer motivations, are associate impression, when, some one do something
that you liked and intrigue you, that, motivate you to do the same.
One summer day when I was a young boy, I hear my Mother is talking to her
neighborhood friend. she was complaining to my mother about other mutual
friend, that how she made her upset and she never wants to talk to her again.
My mother told her, how can be possible to leave some neighborhood and not
talk to each other? You have to find out what you did to make her to do
the thing she did to you. She is probably upset with her self to make you
upset. coincidently I hear my mother is talking to other friend. What have
you done to make our friend? She is upset with herself to make you upset.
That day I saw some thing wonderful a kind of joy, that I call it “private
joy” on my mother’s face. The joy of, bringing two friend
together. That motivate me to be a peacemaker. In my youth, I was rebellion,
bold and wanted to know everything, and did not lessen to people when, I
knew they didn't know what they were talking about and told me what to do.
My mother wrote letter to my father about me, when my father was working
in other state.
She wrought that: I am giving her a hard time and she doesn’t
know what to do with me. My father wrought me a letter with a poem that
he wrote himself, trying to tell me something. He wrought "Their
was a city divided by river. People from either side of the city had to
go along distance to cross the river. In that city there was a good man
that, would help anybody anyway he could. If he couldn't help somebody,
then he would go to someone who could, by convincing them, that, they are
a good citizen in this community and their help is important. That way,
both party, (the helper and the who being helped) look at him, as good man.
One day the good man standing by the river and watching kids playing on
both side the river and shouting at each other to communicate. Good man
was thinking to himself, that, it would be wonderful if there was a river,
so kids could play and people could cross the river. So, one day he got
all the people together and told them that, he have a problem and needs
help. He told them the city need a bridge and he can't build it by himself.
People told him, you help everybody so we are going to help you to build
a bridge. People start working together with joy and singing song until
them finished the bridge. On the opening day, on his honor, they mount a
plate on either side of bridge that says, because of this good man this
bridge was built.Generation later, there was a young man in that city that,
didn't know what he want to do with his life. Each time he past that bridge
he would see that sign. Without knowing how the bridge was built, he wanted
to be remember like good man. The young man couldn't built bridge, so, he
decided in order to be remembered to destroy the bridge.
My father was telling me, you want to build bridge or to destroy? I decide
to build bridge.
Motivation is, the oil for the engine of your goal.
